The name Ferrari is synonymous with design attentive to aesthetics, powerful engines, constant technical innovation and one of the most influential figures in the history of motoring. With a boundless vision and an unbridled passion for motor sports, Enzo Ferrari helped his company to reach an unparalleled prestige by creating a timeless legend. Montblanc dedicated the Montblanc Great Characters Enzo Ferrari Special Edition to this man and his passion for racing. Inspired by both the emblem of the hometown of Enzo Ferrari - Modena - and to the emblematic shade of the Scuderia logo, this edition pays homage to Ferrari's second soul: yellow. On the cone they are engraved dates of Enzo Ferrari's birthday and his first race won, while the upper part of the hood bears his signature and the name of the father's workshop, "Alfredo Ferrari mechanical workshop", I refer to his Christmas. It is embellished with the Montblanc emblem made in precious blue resin, a further tribute to the Modenese coat of arms, and enhanced by an intricate metal processing that recalls the grid of a vintage car. The first victory of Enzo Ferrari, at the Savio circuit, was also the opportunity that marked the dawn of today the famous Ferrari logo. Among the numerous spectators to admire the reckless guide of Enzo Ferrari that day there was the family of the Ace of Italian aviation Francesco Baracca, who in the First World War had served in the same division of Enzo's brother, Dino. The mother of Francesco Baracca, the Countess Paolina Biancoli, suggested to Enzo Ferrari to use the emblem of a rampant and unraveling horse of the son's plane on his racing cars as a lucky charm. The first car made by Ferrara, the 125 s, with twelve cylinders, came out of the Maranello plant on March 12, 1947. Twelve engraved lines symbolize the twelve cylinders.
