While this watch may look like an experimental modern design, this wandering time complication dates back to the mid-17th century when a clockmaker designed used it in a clock for Pope Alexander XII. The digital display shows the time along the top light-colored quarter circle. As time passes, the wheels rotate to show the hour and an arrow pointing to the minutes. If the 12 were located at the 12 oclock position, this watch would be displaying 12:30. Audemars Piguet took about a year and half just to prototype this watch, finally releasing it in 1991 as the Star Wheel Ref. 25720. This particular example is in excellent original condition and we do not it has ever been polished.
